The KIT service unit Innovation Management is responsible for identifying potential innovations in cooperation with science, for protecting them and for initiating and attending their commercial exploitation. At the core of all activities is the intellectual property (IP), which is formed in the approximately 130 scientific institutes of the KIT.
The services extend from the protection of intellectual property rights via the technology marketing and project initiation, the negotiation of license agreements, to the initiation and support of IP-based startups, spinoffs and shareholdings.
As a central point of contact, the innovation management covers all areas of modern technology transfer, while it is also facilitating industry and investors access to the latest development results. Under this contract, the Innovation Management acts in particular as a front office for:
- KIT licenses and license agreements and validation and startup funding
- KIT coordinator of the project KIT founders forge
- KIT project communication platform for the third strategic area of action Innovation
